Work Skills: Waiting Staff

Kieran

Kieran has mostly been involved in the Hospitality industry. Working as a Bartender/Manager for events as well as in restaurants such as Dos Amigos Cantina and De Fontein, both in Mission Bay.

He has also done the odd labour jobs from setting up and packing down promotional gear for Dark Horse, to cleaning out storage sheds at Storage King, and even cutting keys and changing locks with Auckland Lock Services.

Kieran’s ‘up for anything’ attitude makes him fun to work with and he gets along really well with his peers.

Justine

I used to be a brand ambassador for 4 years. After that I was a full time credit controller. My day to day job included making phone calls and maintaining/building strong relationship with clients. I am used to public speaking and have great communication skills.

Laura

I have a communications degree in Television which has seen me be production coordinator at Les Mills International. Prior to this I have been a cinema attendant, meeting and greeting customers and upsetting movies for 3 years. At the l=same time I enjoyed engaging with clients as a brand ambassador who would sell wine, bread, mangos to customers whilst talking to them about the product. This diverse experience has made me enthusiastic around people, really focussed and driven to helping out companies, brands and clients.

Am in the middle of doing Masters of Comms at AUT

Have done fair share of hospo, admin, temping work, event work, production, producing/staging events, and worked in production.

Have also been in advertising. Teach yoga/mindfulness etc.

Deanna

I have four years of experience in hospitality, both food service and bartending. I also have experience doing casual events waitressing/bartending. I also have 6 months of data entry experience.

Melissa

When I was 16 I started working at Subway for a few months, moved onto a cafe as FOH (the Deli on the Corner) and worked there for 2 and a bit years. Then I moved onto Alpino which is an Italian resturant, as FOH and Duty Manager worked as a waitress, behind the bar and on the coffee machine. Moved up to Auckland from Cambridge, breifly worked at another Italian restaurant (Farina) as a waitress and Duty Manager before moving onto Mojo Bledisloe where I am now, for nearly 6months, as FOH/Barista.

Carolyn

I am a multipotentialite who thrives on learning and trying new things. I have had so many different short-term contract jobs in so many different fields and different countries, from changing tyres to teaching classical ballet, from B2B sales to helping underprivileged children. I am a passionate and driven fast-learner who cannot wait to take up the next challenge.

Fathe

I have worked for the past couple of years at Mexicali Fresh and also doing haircuts, landscaping, working behind the bar at Ironbar, massages, teaching dance and have also performed at lots of music gigs.

Gerardo

I have worked in hospitality back home in Colombia, a few months in Canada and during this year in Auckland. I have worked as a waiter, runner, stocker, pourer and I am well trained to fulfil hospitality duties. I have some experience in accounting and money handling & also in office cleaning.

Erin

I have worked in a variety of areas, including hospitality, retail, reception and administration. I have also worked as an English tutor and editor. My excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are what have allowed me to excel in all these environments. I am friendly, organised and motivated to learn.
